We talked about Hurricane Dean. The first category 5 hurricane to make landfall in the Atlantic Hurricane Basin since Hurricane Andrew 15 years ago tonight.
We had severe weather and flooding across the country during the show.
We also discussed the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Erin that made landfall in Texas.

Hurricane Hollow’s Eye on the Storm - Hurricane Dean

With Hurricane Dean about to affect the Lesser Antilles on the islands of St Lucia, Martinique, and Dominica. We talked about the storm and it’s future path.
At this time of the broadcast, we weren’t sure of the track. The NHC had it on a direct course over Jamaica.

My guest will be Dr Robert Atlas, Dr. Robert Atlas is the former Chief Meteorologist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), and is currently the Director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami, Fla. Some of the areas he focuses his current research on include the prediction, movement and strengthening of hurricanes. Atlas has worked with both satellite data and computer models as a means to study these hurricane behaviors.
We will discuss the QuickScat Satelitte, what it is, what it does, and about the studies on it’s performance.
